American White Pelicans

From Cindy J. Lake Renwick, Plainfield April 6, 2010/9:00 am Since I had a few spare minutes, I stopped at the Copley Nature Park to see "who" was there. My husband went that afternoon prepared with binoculars, cameras, etc., but they had apparently left. This ...
Wild Turkey in Manhattan

About 7PM I received a call from a neighbor that a giant bird was in their Lilac bushes. Walked over to investigate and a large female Wild Turkey came out from under the large bush and took flight across the street to another neighbors conifers. Most of us live on 5 acre or larger lots so this bird has lots of room. I thought I saw a Turkey last fall but was unable to confirm. ...
Bell's Vireo

We had a Bell's Vireo in the Crab apple tree just off our deck this morning. First indication was its unmistakable song I heard from inside. Then a quick glance revealed him hopping around in the small trees and shrubs. We also have Cedar Waxwings building a nest in our small Maple tree. Not sure if they are truly nesting now (seems late) or just "practicing". :) Bill
