Great Blue Heron
A Great Blue Heron landed in our backyard late this morning. Quite a site to see a Great Blue in a partially snow covered backyard. He was checking out a ditch that runs through the back of our property.

Bald Eagle and other sightings
From Gil Anderson:
Today about 4 pm did some birding at I-55 and Desplaines River(the wide waters).
Saw 1 Bald Eagle, 40 Mute Swans, 10 Great Blue Herons. Many Coot and Mallards,
2 Red-tailed Hawks, and 10 White tail deer.
Redpolls in Channahon
